This website is a simple, static site. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking tools and embeds no content from third parties. Fonts and images load from the same server.

Hosting

The website is delivered by Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) as a processor. When you open a page, Cloudflare processes technically necessary connection data such as your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested and browser information, in order to deliver the website and protect it from attacks. I don’t analyse this data or combine it with other data.

Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which ensures an adequate level of data protection for transfers to the USA.

Purpose: secure and reliable delivery of the website.
Legal basis: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Storage period: only as long as needed to deliver and secure the website.

Light and Dark Mode

If you switch between light and dark mode with the button at the top right, your choice (“light” or “dark”) is saved in your browser’s local storage, so the page looks the same on your next visit. This value never leaves your device, and you can delete it at any time in your browser settings.

Legal basis: § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG, since saving it is strictly necessary for the function you explicitly asked for.

If you email me, I process your message and the details you provide in order to reply. The mailbox is operated by Neue Medien Münnich (ALL-INKL.COM), Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany, as a processor (servers in Germany).

Purpose: replying to your message.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your message concerns employment, a contract or steps towards one; otherwise legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Storage period: until your request is resolved, unless statutory retention periods apply.

Links to Other Sites

This website links to other services such as GitHub, LinkedIn, the App Store, TestFlight and dottedmind.app. No data goes to these providers until you click a link. Their own privacy policies apply there.

Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. To use these rights, write to mail@manuelwelsch.de.

You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (www.ldi.nrw.de).
